I’m still playing GTA IV a fair bit. I’ve got 64% complete which isn’t bad considering I’ve not actually gone overboard with the hours playing it.. Haven’t really delved into the online play yet because I’m saving it until I’ve at least completed the main story missions (I’m on the last one). There’s a slight concern that I’ll get bored after finishing the main missions but I suppose I can always do it again but make all the different decisions. Fun fun fun. Not to mention I’m looking forward to actually just roaming the city doing random stuff - which leads me to this post here.
I stumbled on this flickr set called ‘Sightseeing in Liberty City‘ which does a great job at highlighting the level of detail R* put into recreating New York for the game. It’s ridiculous. Makes me yearn even more for a trip to the Big Apple. I’ll get there sooner rather than later. Til then I’ll stay rocking the threadless tee. Anyway, look at the flickr set. It’s good.

Yeah I saw this earlier in the week, it’s impressive. I got GTA as well and I finished the main story in JUST short of 30 hours (bagging the Liberty City Minute achievement) and I can say I’m still compelled to play it to get the other achievements available, just to get the most out of the game. I do have Guitar Hero III too now though, so I’m totally undecided which to put effort into.. got too many games at the moment.
GTA is great though isn’t it. Somewhat limited compared to SA, but a much more densely detailed and immersive environment. I don’t often think massive budgets are good things, but it’s certainly helped R* create the most living and breathing city ever in videogames.

It IS great.. and though I’ve seen complaints about things like not enough pedestrians in places like Times Square (Star Junction, whatever), I think that the detail and the ‘life’ in the city is awesome.
I just finished the story mode, with barely an hour to spare for the Liberty City Minute thing.. I was getting panicked toward the end because I’m not quite ready to do the whole game again just to get that achievement. There are people on the R* Social Club who have done the story in 9 hours which is mental. Blah. Roll on 100% and the multiplayer (which I’ve really not played at all despite thinking that it would get most of my attention). I don’t have any other games so no decisions to make for me - just work getting in the way.. pesky work.
